     All organizations have one thing in common; they need people to run the organization.   Though this is a technical era, there is still a need for human resources to maintain and operate an organization.   Human resources have many factors to consider in keeping an organization operational.   Such factors may include; organizational behavior, organizational culture, diversity and communication.   The United States Air Force has been handling these factors in a unique manner to protect their human resources to keep their mission operational.   Some methods used by the US Air Force may seem to be excessive however their human resources are crucial to an operational organization.

Organizational behavior is the study of human behavior in organizations.   It is an academic discipline devoted to understanding individual and group behavior, interpersonal processes, and organizational dynamics with the goals of improving the performance of organizations and the people in them.   The ultimate goal is to improve the performance of people, groups, and organizations and to improve the quality of work within the organization. (Schermerhorn, 2008)   The US Air Force has taken organizational behavior and amplified it to an entirely new level.   Since our servicing men ank women are on call 24 hrs a day 7 days a week and are considered owned property by the United States Government, there is little to no tolorance for misbehavior.  

mgt307 In 2002 the US Air Force launched a new organizational development plan called the “Wingman” concept which is to better secure their human resources on and off duty.   Wingman is a term used for one person to look out for another, anticipating difficulties and responding to maintain the welfare of their partner.
